News

Macrophages but not skeletal muscle cells respond to extracellular succinate via SUCNR1/GPR91
Nicolas Pillon and colleagues published a new study in the American Journal of Physiology which settled a scientific debate about the localisation and role of the succinate receptor SUCNR1/GPR91 in skeletal muscle. Confirming previous publications but refuting other, Ahmed Abdelmoez demonstrated that macrophages but not skeletal muscle cells respond to extracellular succinate via SUCNR1/GPR91.
Individuals with type 2 diabetes respond differently to exercise
Nicolas Pillon and colleagues published a new study in Science Advances demonstrating that individuals with type 2 diabetes respond differently to exercise.
Diabetes Wellness Sverige
Nicolas Pillon at the Karolinska Institute has received a research grant of 1,000,000 Swedish Kronor from us at Diabetes Wellness Sweden for his project “Regulation of glucose homeostasis in type 2 diabetes by eicosanoids.”
